Xist Summioning Ritual #1 - Chesapeake, VA

Ten years ago this year, the Xists failed to come to Earth on July 5.

This must not happen again. Can't be allowed. Won't stand for it. So, let's fix it.

On FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 1, 2008, in accordance with pagan ritual from days of yore, your union reps at the Subgenius Drunkard Local 69 of Southeastern Virginia will cast the spells and operate the technology summon the Xists from wherever the hell they've been hiding these long years. By starting EARLY we are virtually GUARANTEED to alert them in time for their arrival in July! The Taphouse Cabal has pledged their full support for this endeavor, so the brilliant-and-lovely Joy D'Veeve, the enigmatic-but-amiable Nigel, and the powerful-yet-not-at-all-Nazi-like Ankara will be in attendance.

This ritual will take place on several acres of land in Chesapeake, Virginia on Groundhog's Eve -- February 1, 2008. In order for maximum summoning potential, the bonfires will be lit at 9pm, not to be extinguished until well past sunrise on Groundhog Day. If "Bob" sees his shadow on that fateful morning, we will shout Huzzah and Hooray before arming ourselves and preparing for the carnage to ensue for the following five months, secure in our knowledge that the Xists have heard our call. By not attending this ritual, you decrease your chances of a successful July rupture by 4,524.7%. DON'T MAKE THAT DREADFUL MISTAKE!

The temperature does not get super-duper cold here, so camping is certainly a possibility. Floor space and couches to sleep on are, as of this writing, still plentiful for the less hardy. No one but me gets to ride the tractor, though. I may buy a deep fryer, a turkey, and a lot of bananas. A modicum of alcohol will be provided, but donations of various False Slack (money, alcohol, etc) are requested (yet, for reasons known only to those freaks at SDL69, NOT mandatory).

Movies will be broadcast via digital projector all night long. A large bonfire is planned.
